If you are unfamiliar with this navigation format please take the time to plot these examples. Even if you are familiar please make sure you understand how our implementation works.
All the instructions will be given in numbered boxes:

Try plotting this example.
If you don't have the map to hand, try using Streetmap - you'll have to scroll it around a little to follow the entire route.
The route book, given out at the start of the event, would be:
The route instructions (which would be given out by the marshals at each TC) are:
Use Box 1 from MTC1.
Use Box 18 from STC2.
Use Box 11 from STC3.
Use box 37 from STC4.
Points to note.
- Boxes 34-36 are not used at all.
- Control locations are defined relative to junctions. All controls are referred to as either TCs or PCs, their actual status is given on the timecards.
- AR - All Roads, CRO - Coloured (Red, Green, Brown, Yellow or Blue) Roads Only, UFN - Until further notice.
- Pre plotted route instructions will be referred to as "Use Pre-plot"
- The timings and distances are given on your time card.
Further Help
If you have any problems with the example please try the following (you will get better results from lower numbered options!):
- Ask an expert at your motor club's next social.
- Ask one of the organisers for help one evening (but not in the week before the event!)
- Ask at the start
- Ask at the driver's briefing
We would like to see you all get round the complete route, so please don't be afraid to ask for help. We will do what we can to help you. The Rally is intended to be a competition between the crews who have entered, it is NOT a competition between the organisers and the crews (despite how it might seem on the night).
